Page Peel

If you take a look at upper-right corner of this page, you’ll see neat advertisement represented as folded paper. When you hover it with mouse, a big (real) advertisement will show.

This plugin adds new Web 2.0 flash Page Peel Ad to your WP powered blog. It preloads big image so you won’t get delay before displaying image when you hover ad like in ordinary Page Peel scripts. Plugin is highly configurable, so you can configure almost every aspect of it by going to Settings » Page Peel Options.

Your plugin wasn’t working on my 2.7.1 WP blog, so I upgraded to 2.8.5. Still, not working. I switched to the default theme, and de-activated all plug-ins except yours, still nothing.

Can you please give me some ideas as to how to fix this? It is hosted on hostgator in its own CPanel account.

I have your plug-in activated now. Thanks for your help.

  I don’t know, but something is preventing SWF files from loading. I have just checked your website and it seems that plugin is loaded correctly, but SWFs won’t load for some reason.

  I have this exact same situation and problem. Hostgator, WP v.2.8.5 – doesn’t work even if all other plugins are deactivated.
  
  Should I contact Hostgator or is there anything else we can check first?

thanks a lot for the tool, it is so cool! I am having just a little issue. I have installed it on the Wordpress page, updated url to point to another source, but it still points to the original page from your website. Any hints, please? I am a bit of a beginner

  The old JS code might be still in your browser’s cache. Please open yoursite.com/wp-content/plugins/page-peel/pagepeel-js.php and shift+refresh it until you see your URL in JS code. After that it should work fine

Greetings,

Unless I am missing something, I fail to see how you can claim “you can configure almost every aspect” There are three fields and nothing about them is configurable.

Please let me know if I am missing something

  As explained here, link target is hard-coded in SWF file and therefore it can not be changed.

I am so new at this. I have downloaded the peel on my wp blog and it is there….now how do I get my ad to show under it. I went in and looked at the code to see if I can find anything that looks like something it might be…however, I didn’t see anything. Please help.

Hello. Love the plugin! It was working great before I updated it. The javascript appears not to be working and the page ear is not folding down. Running WP 2.7.
Saw you said something about shift+refresh when going to “yoursite.com/wp-content/plugins/page-peel/pagepeel-js.php and shift+refresh it until you see your URL in JS code.”
That does nothing for me. Not sure exactly what you meant by that anyways???
Any help is appreciated.

hi there,

i’ve got a problem with the pagepeel plugin in the firefox v3.5 browser, the plugin is configured well, work in other browsers like ie7 and opera, but not in firefox. what could i do ?

Hi, I have the page peel more or less working on the site but it interferes with my top navigation and now the only nav buttons that work are the first two. Also, it doesn’t show the image I uploaded for the small 75 x 75 image (small.jpg). Finally what are the dimensions for the large image? I created one at 500 x 500 and it was way too big — it didn’t show hardly any of the image so I had to eyeball it to get it to appear when “peeled back.” If I had the actual dimensions for the peel back, I could ensure my image fits perfectly. BTW, if it matters, I’m using Firefox. Thanks.

I’ve just installed it on my website – http://thewebguyuk.co.uk – and nothing displays. I haven’t changed any settings because I wanted to see what it looked like on my blog before taking time to make the adverts. Any hints?

  The only way to change the AD is to go to Options / Page Peel Options and change URL of the AD as well as landing page URL from there.
  
  For all others who have problems with peel not displaying, you can take a look at this discussion. If information from that thread does not help you, then I really can’t help you and you will probably need to change/modify your theme or to change your web hosting provider.
